WCG 2011 prize pool revealed - StarCraft 2 gets $27,000

World Cyber Games releases the prize money distribution a week before the grand final in Busan, South Korea. StarCraft 2 prize pool lands at $27,000 USD and WarCraft 3 at $14,000 USD.
For WarCraft 3 we see a 27 percent increase ($3,000) compared to last year. StarCraft 2 will make its debute at the World Cyber Games floor.

| Team based games get most money, its normal as $25K is split between the players. So SC2 winner actually gets the most money ($20K) as he does not have to split it with anyone. About Asphalt 6 - I think that this is an error, because WOW!!! |

| asphalt 6's prize is probably not wrong, their developer wants to sponsor some prize money then let them. All the prize pools are determined by market factors and doesnt have anything to do with how big the game community is. 40k=not a lot |
| I assume Asphalt 6 gets huge prize pool because mobile device manufacturers are sponsoring it as they are directly interested in increasing popularity of this game. |

| It may not seem wrong for ashphalt to get 40 k, but seriously this game will absolutely never be anything in the e-sport world, nor were the other 5 before it. You have to invest in SC2, counter strike, lol and street fighter, this is the direction e sports is heading. In my opinion, giving that much popularity to ashphalt is a joke, but it has done its job as well as we are all talking about it and many of us will buy it after seeing the prize pool from this tourney |

| Asphalt 6 has the biggest prize because Samsung is the main sponsor and Samsung makes lots of $$$$ from their Galaxy sales so they want to promote Galaxy S II in the best way possible. Business. |
